Transforming communities through Food Safety Foundation- Uganda

At Food Safety Foundation Uganda, we are committed to making a tangible difference in food safety, food security, household income, nutrition, and sustainable food systems. Explore the profound impact of our work on individuals and communities.

Making a real difference

Our work directly improves lives through food security, nutrition and income. For example, we've seen a significant reduction in malnutrition cases among children under five in Lagoro, Omiya Anyima, Namokora, and Orom Sub Counties, thanks to our food supplements. We also foster confidence among consumers in the food chain by promoting high levels of hygiene, especially for roadside food vendors in the region of work hence increased income.

Food vendors adopted better practices for water use, food storage waste disposals, good manufacturing practices (GMP).

Food Business Operators are trained on Good hygiene practice and good manufacturing practices and the skills are generic to other FBOs

Additionally, we strongly advocate for and promote organic vegetable production and fruit tree planting, contributing to sustainable food systems and improved nutrition for all in our Safe Horticulture Program (SHP)
